About this project

row.happi.li is a free hobby project. It is meant to be fun and to keep you rowing. There are no ads, no tracking and nothing to buy.

row.happi.li is not a Concept2 product and has no connection to Concept2, Inc. “Concept2” is a trademark of Concept2, Inc.

The app has read-only access to your Concept2 logbook: your profile and your workouts. It cannot change or delete anything in your logbook.

All figures and statistics come without warranty. Train at your own risk: listen to your body.

The operators of linked sites, such as Concept2, are solely responsible for their content.

Privacy in short

Nothing about you is stored on our server. Your workouts are only passed through by the server and then live in your browser. There is no tracking, no analytics and no third-party requests from your browser.

The person named in the imprint above is responsible for the processing of your data.

Signing in with Concept2

You sign in through Concept2 (OAuth). row.happi.li only asks for permission to read your profile and to read your workouts. In return, Concept2 gives us an access key.

This key, your Concept2 user ID and your first name are kept encrypted in a cookie in your browser until you log out, for one year at most. They are not stored on the server.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: without this data the app cannot provide what you asked it to do.

Your workouts

When you open the app, our server fetches your workouts from Concept2 and hands them straight to your browser: date and time, distance, time, machine type and stroke rate. None of it is stored on the server.

So that the app loads quickly, your browser keeps a copy in its local storage. Logging out deletes this copy. Your browser calculates all statistics, keepsakes and postcards from this copy.

Cookies and local storage

row.happi.li only uses what the app needs to work (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG), so there is no cookie banner:

• “__Host-rowhappili”: your encrypted sign-in, until you log out, one year at most.

• “lang”: your language choice, one year.

• “rowhappili-opened-…”: the date of the last bottle you opened, two years. It stays after you log out and holds nothing but that date.

• Local storage: the copy of your logbook, until you log out.

Server and hosting

The app runs on a server of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Oracle only processes data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).

To deliver the page, the server necessarily processes your IP address. We keep no access logs. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in running the service securely and reliably.

We serve fonts and images ourselves. Your browser loads nothing from other providers.

Concept2

Your workouts come from your own Concept2 account at Concept2, Inc. in the USA. Concept2's privacy policy applies to the processing there. row.happi.li only fetches data while you use the app.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

As nothing is stored on the server, you can delete your data yourself: log out, which removes your sign-in and the copy of your logbook. You can revoke row.happi.li's access to your logbook at any time in your Concept2 logbook settings.
